Formed in 1996 in Kemi, Finland, Sonata Arctica evolved from a hard rock project into a prominent power and progressive metal act. Throughout their career, the group has maintained a rotating lineup, currently featuring Tony Kakko, Tommy Portimo, Henrik Klingenberg, Elias Viljanen, and Pasi Kauppinen. The band has established a significant discography, releasing eleven full-length albums through labels including Spinefarm Records, Nuclear Blast, and Atomic Fire.
