Aggressive New York hardcore fused with metallic precision. High-velocity anthems for the principled and the pissed off. Perfect for the gym or the pit.
Most Precious Blood sounds like a high-speed collision between the raw energy of New York hardcore and the surgical strike of thrash metal. It is music built on friction: the friction of the city, the friction of social injustice, and the friction of heavy guitars grinding against rapid-fire percussion. The sound is dense and unrelenting, characterized by thick, chugging riffs that give way to soaring, melodic leads and devastating breakdowns.
What truly sets them apart is the intellectual and ethical weight behind the noise. Emerging from the legendary Indecision, they carry a legacy of vegan straight edge activism that informs every scream. Unlike many of their peers who rely on generic aggression, their music feels calculated and purposeful, utilizing unusual influences like gothic rock and industrial textures to add a layer of dark atmosphere to their hardcore foundation.
To experience the band at their peak, start with 'Our Lady of Annihilation'. It captures the transition to Rob Fusco's iconic, frantic vocal style and features some of the most memorable songwriting in the 2000s metalcore canon. It is an essential document of a time when hardcore was evolving into something more complex and punishing.
Most Precious Blood is an American hardcore punk band from New York City formed from the remnants of the band Indecision. They blend the song structures of hardcore with heavy metal, and the band cites Sick of It All, Aphex Twin, The Sisters of Mercy, and The Obsessed as influences, among others. They were signed to Trustkill Records until it dissolved in 2010. They are now with Trustkill president Josh Grabelle's new label Bullet Tooth. The band and its members advocated the straight edge movement, animal rights, vegetarianism and veganism. As of 2015, vocalist Rob Fusco is no longer. However, they deny being preachy in any way, saying "I'm not going around trying to change people because people are going to change when they want to... if I said something that you found truth in, or that you found made sense, cool – I'm glad I was a catalyst to help you come to your own conclusions."
