Formed in Boston in 1997, Diecast emerged as a pivotal force in the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. Initially rooted in the city's legendary hardcore scene, their early work like 'Undo the Wicked' leaned heavily into raw, aggressive territory.

However, the band's evolution saw them incorporating more sophisticated melodic elements and thrash-influenced guitar work, particularly after the recruitment of vocalist Paul Bostaph and later Paul Stoddard. Their 2004 release, 'Tearing Down Your Blue Skies,' remains a touchstone of the era, showcasing a high-fidelity production style that emphasized their 'blend of melody and heavy rock.'
