Noisex

Noisex, the primary project of German producer Raoul Roucka, is a cornerstone of the 'rhythmic noise' or 'powernoise' subgenre. Emerging in the early 1990s, Roucka transitioned from the experimental T:U:T:P moniker to Noisex, refining a sound that bridged the gap between the transgressive industrial of SPK or Throbbing Gristle and the emerging hard techno scene.

His work is characterized by heavy distortion, complex drum programming, and a dense layering of digital artifacts. Throughout the late 90s and early 2000s, Noisex became a flagship act for the influential Ant-Zen and Hands Productions labels, helping to define the aesthetic of the European industrial underground. Critically, Roucka is respected for his ability to maintain a 'groove' within highly abrasive sonic environments. His influence extends into modern industrial techno and power electronics, serving as a bridge between the 80s pioneers and the contemporary club-focused noise scene.
