Mini is a cornerstone of the Hungarian progressive rock and jazz-fusion scene, formed in 1968 under the leadership of flautist and vocalist Ádám Török. While they began as a blues-oriented outfit, the band quickly evolved into a sophisticated art-rock ensemble, often compared to Jethro Tull due to the prominent use of the flute, though Mini leaned much more heavily into jazz-fusion and Bartók-influenced classical structures.
Throughout the 1970s, they were a vital part of the Budapest underground, navigating the cultural constraints of the era to produce music of immense technical complexity and emotional depth. Their sound is characterized by the interplay between Török's virtuosic flute and the heavy keyboard work of members like Gyula Papp or Karcsi Németh.
