High-energy pop-punk with a North Carolina swagger. Crunchy guitars and massive choruses designed for road trips and summer festivals.
Farewell emerged from Greensboro, North Carolina, in 2004, quickly becoming a staple of the mid-2000s pop-punk explosion. Signed to the legendary Epitaph Records, they bridged the gap between the label's heritage punk roster and the emerging 'neon' pop-punk scene.
Their debut full-length, 'Isn't This Supposed to Be Fun!?' (2007), remains a cult classic of the genre, characterized by its high-energy production and infectious vocal harmonies. On their sophomore effort, 'Run It Up the Flagpole' (2009), the band attempted to diversify their sound, drawing from more mature influences like Jawbreaker and Screeching Weasel to avoid the 'sophomore slump.' This evolution showcased a move toward more complex arrangements and a rejection of over-processed studio trickery. Despite a strong touring history alongside peers like Hit The Lights and Four Year Strong, the band's relationship with Epitaph ended after their second album, leaving a legacy of high-quality, melodic alternative rock that remains highly regarded by fans of the Warped Tour era.
