Esplendor Geométrico

Esplendor Geométrico is a seminal Spanish industrial project formed in 1980 by former members of the synth-pop group El Aviador Dro. T.

Marinetti, they moved away from pop structures toward a radical, rhythm-focused industrial sound. Their early 80s work, such as 'Héroe del Trabajo', established a blueprint for rhythmic noise, prioritizing repetitive, distorted percussion over melody. By the late 80s, particularly with the release of 'Mekano Turbo', they had perfected a style of 'industrial techno' before the term was widely used, influencing generations of power noise and techno producers. The 1990s saw the duo of Arturo Lanz and Saverio Evangelista incorporate global influences, specifically Arabic and North African motifs, which added a tribal, ritualistic layer to their mechanical foundations. Critically, they are regarded as one of the most consistent and uncompromising acts in the industrial underground, maintaining a cult following for over four decades while operating from disparate locations like Beijing and Rome.
