Released in late 2014, PNDCOLOURS serves as a pivotal bridge between PARTYNEXTDOOR's self-titled debut and his increasingly experimental later work. This four-track EP solidified the 'Toronto Sound' - a blend of moody, atmospheric R&B and trap-influenced percussion that would dominate the mid-2010s. Produced largely by PND himself along with OVO stalwarts like G. Ry, the project is characterized by its 'underwater' mixing style, where vocals are submerged in heavy reverb and pitch-shifted to create a haunting, ethereal effect. The EP features notable collaborations, including Travis Scott on 'JUS KNOW' and Cash Out on 'Don't Worry,' yet it remains firmly centered on PND's singular vision of urban isolation.
