We Trust

We Trust is the musical project of Portuguese director and photographer André Tentugal, launched in 2011. Based in Porto, Tentugal transitioned from a highly successful career as a music video director for acts like The Divine Comedy and Ariel Pink to a creator in his own right.

His sound identity is defined by a 'cinematic pop' aesthetic, characterized by high-fidelity production, layered vocal harmonies, and a penchant for anthemic, uplifting structures that retain a sense of indie-folk intimacy. His debut album, 'These New Countries', established him as a central figure in the modern Portuguese indie scene, bridging the gap between traditional singer-songwriter sensibilities and contemporary international pop.
