Sparkadia began as a four-piece indie rock outfit in Sydney in 2004, led by the songwriting of Alexander Burnett. Working with producer Ben Hillier (Blur, Depeche Mode) helped refine their sound into a polished, internationally relevant brand of alternative pop. Following lineup changes, the project effectively became Burnett's solo vehicle for the 2011 release 'The Great Impression.' This second album marked a significant shift toward chamber pop and art pop, utilizing more complex arrangements and a cinematic scope.
