Intro

Trooper delivers a punchy, classic heavy metal experience that feels both timeless and deeply rooted in Romanian identity. Their sound is defined by the 'galloping' rhythm section and the dual-guitar interplay that pays direct homage to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, yet they infuse it with a modern, polished production that allows every soaring vocal line to cut through the mix. It is music that demands volume and space, often leaning into epic, multi-part compositions.

What truly sets them apart is their commitment to narrative and cultural storytelling. While many metal bands stick to generic tropes, Trooper often explores Romanian history and folklore, turning national legends into high-energy rock anthems. The vocals of Alin 'Coiotu' Dinca are a standout, possessing a grit that never sacrifices melodic clarity, capable of shifting from a low growl to a glass-shattering belt in a single phrase.

For those new to the band, their later conceptual works like 'Mihai Viteazul' showcase their ability to blend symphonic elements with raw power. It is the perfect starting point for anyone who loves the theatricality of Iron Maiden but wants to hear it through a distinct Eastern European lens.

Trooper is a Romanian heavy metal band. It was formed on 25 October 1995, by brothers Alin and Aurelian Dincă and Ionuţ Rădulescu being influenced by bands like Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. The band used to be called Megarock, then White Wolf. Once with the arrival of Ionuţ "Negative" Fleancu the band was renamed to Trooper. Poll conducted by the specialized Heavy Metal Magazine in 2001 placed Trooper first in the category Best young band. The group appeared on MTV, MCM, Atomic, TVR1, TVR2, B1 TV, Antena 1, Romania International, Prima TV, Pro TV. Throughout their career, Trooper have shared their stage with bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Manowar, Sepultura, Kreator and Evergrey.
