The Bug

Heavyweight sub-bass collisions and industrial grime. This is the sound of urban decay and sound system pressure, built for dark rooms and high volume.

Intro

The Bug creates music that feels less like a song and more like a physical confrontation. It is a suffocating, exhilarating blend of dancehall riddims, industrial noise, and the deepest sub-bass imaginable. Every track is engineered to push sound systems to their breaking point, creating a sense of claustrophobic urban dread that is simultaneously terrifying and addictive. It is the sound of a city at its boiling point.

What sets Kevin Martin apart is his ability to bridge the gap between the abrasive textures of noise music and the rhythmic precision of Jamaican dub. By collaborating with legendary MCs and vocalists, he grounds his experimental soundscapes in human grit and social commentary. The production is notoriously thick, using distortion not as an effect but as a primary instrument that fills every corner of the frequency spectrum.

Start with the album London Zoo or Fire. These records represent the definitive Bug sound: a relentless parade of heavy-hitting guest vocalists over beats that feel like they were forged in a furnace. It is essential listening for anyone who wants to feel the true physical power of electronic music.
