Formed in 1978 in Orange County, California, Social Distortion is an American punk rock band that blends traditional rock and roll influences into their sound. Led by founding member and constant vocalist-guitarist Mike Ness, the group emerged from the late 1970s hardcore scene. Despite numerous lineup changes and a mid-1980s hiatus, the band has maintained a career spanning decades while releasing music through labels including Epitaph Records and 550 Music.
