Sissy is a Canadian electronic duo consisting of vocalist Johanne Williams and producer David Trusz, formed in Ontario in 2005. They emerged during a period when trip-hop was evolving away from its Bristol roots toward a more polished, atmospheric 'indietronica' sound.
Their debut album, All Under (2006), established their signature aesthetic: a combination of slow-tempo breakbeats, heavy reverb, and Williams' ethereal, often multi-tracked vocal delivery. Their follow-up, March of the Humans (2012), continued this exploration but introduced more complex rhythmic structures and a colder, more mechanical edge to the synthesis.
