Intro

Sebastien Grainger’s solo work carries the kinetic, percussive DNA of his main outfit but expands into a broader, more melodic sonic palette. It sounds like a high-voltage wire vibrating in a garage, balancing the raw aggression of dance-punk with the structural hooks of classic power pop. There is a constant sense of forward motion, driven by his background as a world-class drummer who understands exactly how to make a rhythm section feel dangerous.

What makes him distinctive is the intersection of his strained, emotive vocals and a highly disciplined approach to arrangement. While his peers often lean into lo-fi sloppiness, Grainger’s tracks are meticulously built, featuring fuzzed-out guitars that feel warm rather than harsh and synths that add a layer of urban neon to the grit. It is music that feels physically active, even in its more contemplative moments.

Start with 'Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains' to hear the full realization of his solo vision. It bridges the gap between the heavy intensity fans expect and a newfound love for shimmering, melodic rock. It is the perfect entry point for anyone who wants the energy of a basement show with the songwriting craft of a studio veteran.
