Intro

Quarters of Change (often shortened to Quarters) delivers a sound that feels like the spiritual successor to the early 2000s New York rock revival, but polished with a 2020s pop sensibility. It is music defined by its kinetic energy: sharp, interlocking guitar lines that dance around one another, backed by a rhythm section that feels both tight and dangerously close to the edge. Ben Roter’s vocals provide a soaring, melodic anchor that transforms gritty club rock into something that feels destined for stadiums.

What makes them distinctive is the balance between technical precision and raw, youthful urgency. While many of their peers lean into a lo-fi or slacker aesthetic, Quarters opts for a high-fidelity, muscular production style. Their songs often feature complex arrangements and dynamic shifts that keep the listener off-balance, moving from shimmering, clean verses to explosive, distorted choruses without losing their infectious groove.

Start with 'Into the Rift' to hear the band at their most cohesive. It captures the transition from their garage-rock roots to a more sophisticated, layered sound. It is the perfect entry point for anyone who misses the era of guitar-driven anthems but wants something that feels firmly rooted in the present moment.
