Explosive, communal synth-pop that feels like a giant hug. Orchestral scale meets dance-floor energy for moments of pure, unironic connection.
Rich Aucoin makes music that sounds like the climax of the best night of your life. It is maximalist indie pop that refuses to be small, often featuring hundreds of voices layered into a singular, shimmering wall of sound. His production is a technicolor explosion of analog synths, driving percussion, and orchestral flourishes that aim straight for the rafters. It is the sound of collective joy captured in a bottle.
What truly sets him apart is his commitment to the communal experience. Whether he is recording five hundred people for a single album or syncing his records to classic films, there is a restless, experimental spirit at play. His work balances high-concept ambition with a very simple, human goal: making the listener feel less alone. It is existentialism you can dance to, tackling heavy themes of mortality and connection with a relentless, bright-eyed optimism.
Start with 'We're All Dying to Live' to hear his massive, multi-contributor vision at its most ambitious. If you prefer a more electronic, synth-heavy journey, dive into the 'Synthetic' series. Either way, prepare for music that demands your full attention and rewards it with a profound sense of euphoria.
