Intro

Paul Taylor delivers a sound that is the musical equivalent of silk. His saxophone work, particularly on the soprano and alto, is characterized by a liquid fluidity that feels effortless and deeply melodic. It is music that occupies the space between high-end lounge jazz and contemporary R&B, maintaining a consistent pulse that is never jarring but always engaging.

What sets Taylor apart is his ability to blend instrumental virtuosity with the sensibilities of urban pop. He frequently collaborates with R&B vocalists, creating a hybrid sound where the saxophone acts as a second voice, weaving through soulful arrangements and crisp, modern production. There is a distinct 'nightlife' energy here, evoking images of neon-lit streets and sophisticated social gatherings.

For those new to his catalog, 'Hypnotic' or 'Nightlife' are the ideal entry points. These albums showcase his signature blend of catchy, radio-ready hooks and the smooth, atmospheric textures that have made him a staple of the contemporary jazz circuit for decades.
