Necrodeath

Necrodeath is a foundational pillar of the Italian extreme metal scene, formed in 1985 in Liguria. Their early work, specifically the 1987 debut 'Into the Macabre', is cited by legendary figures in the Norwegian black metal scene as a primary influence, bridging the gap between First Wave Black Metal (Venom, Bathory) and the more aggressive Teutonic Thrash style.

Their sound identity is defined by the 'wall of sound' production aesthetic and the distinctive drumming of Peso, who later influenced the technical death metal scene with Sadist. After a hiatus in the early 90s, the band reformed in 1998, shifting toward a slightly more polished but equally aggressive blackened thrash sound. Critical consensus views them as one of the most important 'cult' acts in metal history, often overlooked by the mainstream but revered by genre purists for their uncompromising speed and dark atmosphere.
