Intro

Madame creates a soundscape that feels like a modern fever dream, where the traditional boundaries of Italian songwriting are dissolved by liquid trap production and experimental vocal delivery. Her music is characterized by a unique 'slurred' articulation that treats the Italian language as a malleable instrument, stretching vowels and shifting accents to create a hypnotic, rhythmic flow. It is urban music that has been through a literary filter, trading typical bravado for a raw, sometimes uncomfortable honesty.

What truly sets her apart is the theatricality of her performance. She can pivot from a vulnerable, breathy whisper to an enraged, percussive rap within a single verse, mirroring the chaotic internal monologue of a young artist navigating sudden fame and self-discovery. The production is sleek and contemporary, yet it often carries a melancholic weight that feels more aligned with art pop than standard radio rap.

To understand her impact, start with 'Sciccherie' to hear the vocal elasticity that first made her a phenomenon, then move to her self-titled debut album. It is the perfect entry point for those who want to hear how classical poetic influences can coexist with the sharp, digital edges of modern R&B.

Francesca Calearo (born 16 January 2002), known professionally as Madame, is an Italian singer-songwriter and rapper. After signing a recording contract with Sugar Music at age 16, she gained popularity in August 2019, when her single "Sciccherie" was shared by Cristiano Ronaldo on his Instagram profile. Between 2019 and 2020, she released several singles as lead artist and collaborations with, among others, Marracash, Negramaro, DRD, Ghali, Ensi, and producer Chris Nolan. Her entry "Voce", which earned her one of the most streams artist in Amazon Music Italy in 2021 alongside Cos Mass, Mahmood and Alessandra Amoroso as well as the single "Il mio amico" recorded with Fabri Fibra, were included in her debut album Madame, released on 19 March 2021.
