Lujuria formed in Segovia, Spain, in 1990, emerging as a pivotal force in the 'Heavy Metal en Castellano' scene. Led by the outspoken Oscar Sancho, the band carved out a unique niche by blending traditional heavy metal structures with explicitly erotic and humorous lyrical themes, a style they dubbed 'Heavy Erotic Metal.'

Despite their provocative image, the band has maintained a strong commitment to social activism, notably supporting victims of sexual assault and domestic violence through benefit releases like 'Espinas en el corazón.' Their career arc shows a transition from the raw, demo-quality grit of the early 90s to a more polished, anthemic sound in the early 2000s with albums like 'Enemigos de la castidad.' They are often grouped with Spanish legends like Obus and Baron Rojo, but their specific focus on sexual politics and their blend of humor and protest sets them apart. Critically, they are respected for their consistency and Sancho's role as a tireless advocate for the Spanish metal community.
