Gritty Swiss heavy metal with a street-ready edge. High-voltage riffs and raspy vocals for fans of unpolished 80s hard rock and basement-show energy.
Killer is a Swiss heavy metal band formed in 1979 by Edgar 'Crown' Kocher. Emerging from the same Solothurn scene that produced Krokus, Killer occupied a more underground, aggressive niche within the hard rock spectrum.
Their sound is characterized by a blend of NWOBHM-style riffing and traditional hard rock structures. Kocher's visual trademark, performing in striped prison uniforms, solidified the band's 'outlaw' image. Between 1981 and 1986, they released four albums that are now considered cult classics of the European metal scene, notably 'Ladykiller' and 'Stronger Than Ever'. Despite being overshadowed commercially by Krokus, Killer maintained a dedicated following for their unpretentious, high-energy performances. After a long hiatus starting in 1986, Kocher revived the band in the 2000s, eventually releasing 'Screamgunn' in 2019. Their influence is most felt among collectors of 'obscure' 80s metal and fans of the raw, unpolished side of the genre.
