Aggressive industrial metal that fuses mosh pit energy with dance floor electronics. Heavy, rhythmic, and deeply cathartic music for high-intensity moments.
Klank is an American industrial metal project founded by Daren Diolosa in 1993 following his departure from the seminal industrial act Circle of Dust. Based in New York and later associated with the Seattle-based Tooth & Nail Records, Klank became a pivotal figure in the 1990s crossover between industrial, metal, and the Christian alternative scene.
Their sound is characterized by 'groove-heavy' industrialism, utilizing programmed loops and drum machines alongside aggressive, down-tuned guitars. Diolosa's philosophy of 'sonic therapy' informs the lyrical depth, focusing on psychological realism and emotional venting. Historically, Klank bridged the gap between the underground industrial scene and more mainstream alternative metal, achieving significant CMJ chart success. The project evolved from a solo endeavor into a collaborative unit with Pat Servedio, maintaining a consistent reputation for high-intensity live performances and a dense, layered production style that influenced the second wave of industrial metal.
