Biopsyhoz

Biopsyhoz is a cornerstone of the Russian extreme subculture, formed in Vladivostok in 1999 before relocating to Moscow. Led by Sergei Shubin, the project evolved from a regional collective into a nationally recognized industrial force.

Their sound identity is characterized by a dense layering of electronic textures, live instrumentation, and a vocal style that balances raw aggression with theatrical delivery. Musically, they occupy the space between the stadium-sized industrial of Rammstein and the experimental, sample-heavy grit of Skinny Puppy. Their career arc is marked by significant contributions to Russian cinema, with their music appearing in major films like 'Nightwatch' and 'Antikiller 2', which helped bridge the gap between underground industrial and mainstream visibility. Critically, they are respected for maintaining a high level of production quality and conceptual depth, often exploring themes of human psychology and social decay.
