Evermore

Polished, anthemic rock built on shimmering piano melodies and brotherly harmonies. It is the sound of wide-open horizons and 2000s nostalgia for a long drive home.

Intro

Evermore crafts a sound that feels both expansive and deeply intimate, characterized by the unmistakable vocal chemistry that only siblings can achieve. Their music often begins with a delicate piano motif or a clean, delay-soaked guitar line before swelling into massive, cinematic choruses designed for festival stages and long highway stretches. There is a persistent sense of yearning in their melodies, a balance between the isolation of their rural New Zealand roots and the polished ambition of modern arena rock.

What sets them apart is their willingness to experiment with structure and concept without sacrificing accessibility. While they are masters of the three-minute pop-rock single, they also dive into dense, layered arrangements and conceptual storytelling that elevates them above their radio-friendly peers. The production is consistently warm and lush, often incorporating orchestral elements that give their songs a timeless, widescreen quality.

Start with the album 'Real Life' to hear them at their commercial and creative peak. It captures the transition from their indie beginnings into a more sophisticated, stadium-ready sound. From there, explore 'Truth of the World' for a more ambitious, conceptual take on their signature style, or 'Dreams' for the raw, earnest energy of their early years.

Evermore were a rock band formed in Feilding, New Zealand, in 1999, made up of three brothers Jon (guitar, vocals), Peter (keyboards, bass guitar, vocals) and Dann Hume (drums, guitar, vocals). The band was based in Sydney from 2004 to 2007 and then Melbourne until they became inactive in 2014. Evermore released four studio albums: Dreams (2004), Real Life (2006), Truth of the World: Welcome to the Show (2009), and Follow the Sun (2012), as well as a self-titled compilation album (2010). Real Life and Truth of the World were their highest-charting studio albums in New Zealand and Australia, while Dreams and Real Life received platinum certifications from Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). Evermore's most successful singles were "Running", "Light Surrounding You" (both 2006) and "Hey Boys and Girls (Truth of the World pt.2)" (2009) – "Light Surrounding You" peaked at number one in Australia. They were nominated for seven ARIA Music Awards and won two New Zealand Music Awards. The group's members won an APRA Silver Scroll song writing award and the Channel V Oz Artist of the Year Award. Evermore have not performed publicly since late 2014 and each of the members has undertaken a solo career.
