Formed in 2001 in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Emery is an American post-hardcore band founded by Toby Morrell, Devin Shelton, Matt Carter, Josh Head, Joel Green, and Seth Studley. The group later relocated to Seattle to engage with a broader music scene. Throughout their career, they have released nine studio albums and four live records, gaining notable recognition for their mid-2000s singles "Walls" and "Studying Politics" while recording for labels including Tooth & Nail.
