Intro

Terminal was a short-lived but highly influential melodic rock/post-hardcore band from Dallas, Texas, primarily active in the mid-2000s. Their sound identity is characterized by a sophisticated blend of emo's lyrical vulnerability and the driving, technical arrangements of alternative metal.

Signed to the seminal Tooth & Nail Records, they released their singular full-length, 'How the Lonely Keep' (2005), which garnered critical acclaim for its dynamic range and the vocal prowess of frontman Travis Bryant. The band's career arc was brief; they disbanded in 2006, with members subsequently forming the metalcore outfit Oh, Sleeper and the indie rock band Alive in Wild Paint. Despite their short tenure, Terminal remains a cult favorite within the 'emo-revival' and post-hardcore scenes, cited for their ability to balance radio-ready hooks with complex, interlocking guitar work. Their influence is felt in the way they bridged the gap between the raw energy of the underground Texas scene and the polished production of the national alternative circuit.
