Hyper-bright electronic pop with a heavy funk pulse. High-gloss production meets restless, syncopated rhythms for peak-hour energy and summer moods.
Coucheron creates music that feels like a high-definition burst of color. It is unapologetically bright, blending the slickness of modern Norwegian electronic production with an organic, funky restlessness. You can hear the influence of classic French Touch and nu-disco, but it is updated with a hyper-pop sensibility that favors sharp edges and saturated textures. It is the sound of a producer who is bored by simplicity, opting instead for dense, rewarding layers of sound.
What truly sets him apart is the rhythmic complexity hidden beneath the pop exterior. While many of his peers lean into straight-ahead house beats, Coucheron injects a jazz-musician's sense of timing. Expect sudden stutter-edits, unexpected slap-bass fills, and vocal lines that are chopped and rearranged into melodic percussion. It is music that demands movement but rewards a closer listen to the technical wizardry happening in the mix.
Start with the G.O.L. series to hear his most realized vision of electronic pop. It captures that specific intersection of club-ready energy and clever songwriting. If you want something more aggressive and experimental, his later work like Galopp showcases a more fearless approach to sound design while keeping the dancefloor firmly in sight.
