Conquest

Conquest is a prominent Ukrainian power metal entity formed in 1996 in Kharkiv, originally as a studio project for guitarist W. Angel.

Initially influenced by the melodic hard rock of the 1980s, the band evolved into a faster, more aggressive 'Euro-power' sound by the late 1990s. Their sonic identity is characterized by the technical proficiency of W. Angel's neoclassical guitar work and a penchant for anthemic, high-register vocal performances. Throughout the 2000s, they became a cornerstone of the Eastern European metal scene, sharing stages with genre giants like Sabaton and Rage. Their discography, including standout releases like 'Endless Power' and 'End of Days', showcases a transition from traditional heavy metal toward a more symphonic and speed-oriented style. Critically, they are recognized for successfully blending Western power metal tropes with distinct regional melodic sensibilities, maintaining a consistent presence in the international underground metal community despite various lineup shifts.
