Allegaeon

Allegaeon is a cornerstone of the modern American technical melodic death metal scene. Formed in Colorado in 2007, they carved out a niche by blending the melodic sensibilities of the Gothenburg sound (At the Gates, Soilwork) with the extreme technicality of the 21st-century death metal movement.

Their sound identity is defined by the dual-guitar interplay of Michael Stancel and Greg Burgess, whose backgrounds in classical and flamenco guitar frequently bleed into their metal compositions. The band has navigated several significant lineup changes, most notably the transition from original vocalist Ezra Haynes to Riley McShane, and the eventual return of Haynes.
