The Sin and the Sentence

The Sin and the Sentence is Trivium's eighth studio album and is widely regarded by critics and fans as a 'return to form' after the polarizing, clean-vocal-only experiment of Silence in the Snow. The album's most significant technical development is the debut of drummer Alex Bent, whose background in extreme metal (Brain Drill) brought a new level of speed and technicality to the band's rhythm section. Recorded at Hybrid Studios with producer Josh Wilbur, the album features a return to the dual-vocal approach of Matt Heafy, reincorporating his signature growls alongside his refined melodic singing.
