Still Standing EP

Still Standing is the seminal 1998 EP (often cited as 2000 due to re-release/distribution) that marks the earliest chapter of Yellowcard's discography. Recorded before Ryan Key joined the band, the EP features Ben Dobson on vocals and Todd Clary on guitar, resulting in a significantly more aggressive and less melodic sound than their later commercial peaks. The production is distinctly lo-fi, characteristic of the independent punk scene of the late 90s. Sonically, it aligns more with the 'Fat Wreck Chords' or 'Epitaph' rosters of the era than the polished pop-punk of the early 2000s. Despite the raw delivery, the inclusion of Sean Mackin's violin provides a glimpse into the unique selling point that would eventually make them world-famous. It serves as a bridge between the band's hardcore-influenced debut, Midget Tossing, and their transition toward the melodic sensibilities found on One for the Kids.
