Out of Tune

Released in 1998 on 4AD, Out of Tune marks the definitive shift of Mojave 3 - formed by former Slowdive members Neil Halstead, Rachel Goswell, and Ian McCutcheon - away from the ambient shoegaze of their debut, Ask Me Tomorrow, and toward a more structured, alt-country sound. While the slowcore DNA remains, the introduction of more prominent acoustic guitars, pedal steel, and even horns (as heard on 'Yer Feet') gives the album a richer, more organic palette.
