Dead Throne

Released in 2011, Dead Throne is the fourth studio album by The Devil Wears Prada and marks a pivotal shift in their discography. Produced by Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage, the album successfully bridged the gap between the raw, terrifying energy of their Zombie EP and the more melodic, synth-heavy foundations of With Roots Above and Branches Below. Lyrically, Mike Hranica moved toward more abstract and existential themes, specifically focusing on 'anti-idolatry' and the failure of earthly icons. This thematic weight is mirrored in the music, which is notably darker and more technical than their earlier 'MySpace-core' era work.
