High-energy street-hop fueled by percussive ad-libs and infectious dance rhythms. Aggressive, celebratory, and built for the loudest speakers in the room.
Zlatan is the human equivalent of a lightning bolt hitting a dance floor. His music is defined by an unrelenting kinetic energy that bridges the gap between gritty street-hop and mainstream Afrobeats. It is loud, proud, and deeply rhythmic, characterized by his signature 'Kapaichumarimarichopaco' ad-libs and a vocal delivery that feels like he's leading a massive, high-stakes celebration.
What truly sets him apart is his ability to create physical movement. His tracks aren't just for listening; they are blueprints for specific dance routines, most notably the Zanku. The production is often heavy on the low end, featuring aggressive drum programming and bright, piercing synths that cut through the noise of a crowded club. There is a raw, unpolished charisma in his voice that makes even his most polished studio tracks feel like they were born in the heat of a Lagos street jam.
Start with the 'Zanku' album to understand the cultural shift he sparked. It is the definitive document of his rise, blending humor, street-smart lyricism, and the kind of beats that make sitting still impossible. If you want something more recent, 'Resan' shows his evolution into a more versatile hitmaker without losing that essential, frantic spark.
Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael (born 19 December 1994), known professionally as Zlatan Ibile or simply Zlatan is a Nigerian rapper and singer. He is the CEO and founder of Zanku records. In 2014, he won the Airtel-sponsored One Mic talent show held in 2014, Abeokuta, Ogun State. He named himself after the famous footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović, as he earlier dreamt of a career in soccer. Towards the end of 2018, ZLATAN released a single titled "Zanku", with a flagship dance routine of the same name. Based on the acceptance of the song, the name and the dance, on the 3rd of November 2019, Zlatan released his debut studio album with the same name Zanku, an acronym meaning “Zlatan Abeg No Kill Us”.
