X-Fusion

X-Fusion is the primary creative outlet for German producer Jan Loamfield, a pivotal figure in the evolution of the 'Aggrotech' and 'Harsh EBM' subgenres. Emerging from the late 80s demoscene and acid house culture, Loamfield transitioned X-Fusion into a darker, more aggressive entity around the turn of the millennium.

His sound is characterized by a high-BPM 'four-on-the-floor' kick drum, distorted vocals, and a heavy reliance on the Roland JD800 and modern digital synthesis to create a dense, metallic atmosphere. Unlike many of his contemporaries who lean into pure noise, Loamfield maintains a strong sense of dark melody and cinematic arrangement, often utilizing horror-influenced orchestral stabs. His side project, Noisuf-X, focuses more on instrumental, rhythm-heavy dancefloor tracks, while X-Fusion remains the more lyrical and atmospheric vehicle. Critically, he is respected for his high production standards and his ability to maintain a consistent aesthetic of 'demonic' industrialism across a prolific discography. He remains a cornerstone of the Dark Dimensions label and a staple of the Wave-Gotik-Treffen festival circuit.
