Formed in 1995 in Northport, New York, the American rock band Wheatus is led by Brendan B. Brown. The group gained international recognition through their 2000 hit single Teenage Dirtbag and a popular 2001 cover of Erasure's A Little Respect. Their debut self-titled studio album achieved platinum certification in the United Kingdom. Throughout their career, the band has released music under labels including Columbia Records and Sony BMG Music Entertainment.
