Vibrant, synth-driven pop that balances high-energy hooks with deeply personal storytelling. A shimmering blend of electronic beats and intimate, vulnerable vocals.
Vivek Shraya creates music that feels like a conversation between your most private thoughts and a neon-lit dance floor. Her sound is characterized by a restless curiosity, shifting seamlessly from the stripped-back intimacy of an acoustic guitar to the polished, pulsating textures of modern electropop. There is a distinct theatricality to her work, where every synth swell and vocal harmony serves a larger narrative of self-discovery and resilience.
What truly sets Shraya apart is the way she weaponizes vulnerability. Her voice, often breathy and androgynous, carries a weight of lived experience that grounds even her most upbeat tracks. Whether she is collaborating with a full queer orchestra or building a song from a single drum machine loop, the focus remains on the clarity of her message. It is music that feels both meticulously constructed and rawly spontaneous, capturing the friction of navigating identity in a loud world.
For those new to her catalog, 'Part-Time Woman' offers a lush, orchestral entry point into her songwriting depth, while 'If We're Not Talking' showcases her ability to craft infectious, Prince-influenced pop gems. It is the perfect discography for anyone who wants their pop music to have a sharp intellectual edge without sacrificing the groove.
