Intro

Vinyl Theatre creates a sound that feels like a constant forward motion, blending the structural bones of indie rock with the glossy, pulsating heart of 2010s electropop. Their music is defined by a bright, almost crystalline production style where every synth line and guitar lick is polished to a high sheen. It is 'mellowly loud' music that manages to be both physically massive and emotionally accessible, characterized by soaring vocals that aim for the back of the arena.

What sets them apart is the sheer kinetic energy of their arrangements. While many of their peers lean into the 'chill' side of synth-pop, Vinyl Theatre maintains a restless, driving rock foundation. The interplay between Chris Senner's intricate keyboard work and Keegan Calmes' urgent, belting vocal delivery creates a sense of perpetual momentum. It is music that feels like it was written while chasing a horizon, full of staccato rhythms and lush, stacked harmonies that refuse to sit still.

For those new to the band, their debut album 'Electrogram' is the essential entry point. It perfectly captures the era-defining Fueled by Ramen sound, offering a masterclass in how to fuse analog rock energy with digital precision. It is the ideal soundtrack for moments that require a shot of optimism or a surge of adrenaline, whether you are navigating a crowded city or pushing through a difficult workout.

Vinyl Theatre is an American indie rock band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, formed by Keegan Calmes and Chris Senner. The band later grew to include Josh Pothier and Nick Cesarz. Before being signed to an official record label, they produced several singles that were released on the band's SoundCloud page, leading up to the release of Chromatic EP in 2014. The band was then signed to Fueled by Ramen later in 2014. They released their first studio album, Electrogram, with Fueled by Ramen on September 23, 2014. Vinyl Theatre supported the album by going on a national tour in the United States with the musical duo Twenty One Pilots. The band has said to be influenced by other bands such as Death Cab For Cutie, Two Door Cinema Club, The Shins, The Killers, Young the Giant, and Twenty One Pilots.
