Intro

VIAL sounds like the best basement show you have ever been to, where the air is thick and the floor is sticky but the energy is life-affirming. Their music is a collision of classic punk speed and modern indie-rock melody, characterized by fuzzy guitars and a rhythm section that hits like a physical weight. It is loud, unapologetic, and deeply rooted in the DIY ethos of the Midwest scene.

What truly sets them apart is the vocal interplay. Instead of a single frontperson, they utilize multiple voices to create a wall of sound that shifts between melodic harmonies and guttural shouts. Their lyrics are clever and biting, tackling everything from personal identity to social frustrations with a sense of humor that prevents the angst from ever feeling one-dimensional.

Start with the album Loudmouth to hear them at their most cohesive and punchy. It captures the transition from their raw early EPs to a more defined, professional sound without losing the jagged edges that make them essential listening for anyone who misses the grit of early 2000s garage rock.
