Formed in Tumwater, Washington, in 1991, Unwound is an American punk rock band known for their dissonant, angular sound and unique guitar tones. Throughout the 1990s, the group gained a reputation for relentless touring and a commitment to all-ages venues. Signed to the Kill Rock Stars label, the band, featuring Justin Trosper, produced numerous recordings and singles, establishing a significant presence within the post-hardcore and noise rock scenes.
