Founded in Germany in 1991, U96 is a dance music project that helped define the Eurodance genre. Originally established by DJ Alex Christensen alongside production team Matiz, the group released music through Polydor. Following a ten-year break, the act resumed operations in 2018 with a revised lineup. The project remains a notable example of the early nineties European electronic dance scene, blending rhythmic production with high-energy arrangements.
