U.S.D.A.

Heavy, brass-laden trap anthems with a gritty street edge. High-octane Southern rap built for car speakers and late-night drives.

Intro

This is the sound of the mid-2000s Atlanta trap explosion at its most collective and unfiltered. It is characterized by massive, cinematic production, featuring the signature booming 808s and triumphant brass sections that defined the CTE aesthetic. The energy is consistently high, projecting an aura of street authority and hard-earned confidence.

What makes U.S.D.A. stand out is the interplay between Jeezy's iconic, gravelly delivery and the hungrier, sharper flows of Slick Pulla and Blood Raw. While Jeezy provides the star power and the ad-lib-heavy foundation, his collaborators bring a raw, mixtape-bred urgency that prevents the sound from feeling too polished or commercial. It is music that feels both expensive and dangerous.

Start with the album Cold Summer. It serves as the definitive document of the group's chemistry, offering a sequence of anthems that are essentially a masterclass in the 'Thug Motivation' era of Southern hip-hop. It is best experienced at high volume where the low-end frequencies can be fully felt.

U.S.D.A. (United Street Dopeboyz of America) was a hip hop group from Atlanta. Rapper Jeezy founded the group after his departure from Boyz n da Hood. The original group consisted of Jeezy, Slick Pulla and Blood Raw. In 2007, they released their sole album, Cold Summer, under Def Jam Recordings. After the release of their 2011 mixtape, All or Nothing, U.S.D.A. disbanded in 2012 without any follow up material.
