Tying Tiffany

Aggressive, fashion-forward electroclash with a dark industrial edge. Cold synths and distorted vocals for late nights in concrete spaces.

Intro

Tying Tiffany sounds like the intersection of a high-fashion runway and a gritty underground punk club. It is music built on the skeletal remains of 80s darkwave, reanimated with the aggressive, distorted pulse of 2000s electroclash. The production is sharp and often abrasive, favoring biting synth leads and drum machines that hit with mechanical precision. There is a persistent sense of urban claustrophobia and nocturnal energy that defines every track.

What makes her distinctive is the way she balances her background in performance art and indie rock with cold, digital textures. Unlike many of her contemporaries who leaned into pure pop, Tiffany maintains a 'techno-punk' edge, often burying her vocals under layers of saturation or delivering them with a detached, icy cool. Her collaboration with Lorenzo Montanà brings a cinematic, almost soundtrack-like depth to the chaos, making the music feel larger and more atmospheric than standard club fare.

Start with 'Drop' for a more polished, modern entry into her sound, or dive into 'Peoples Temple' if you prefer the darker, more gothic-influenced side of her catalog. Both albums showcase her ability to turn existential tension into a danceable, albeit jagged, experience.

Tying Tiffany, also known as TT and Tiff Lion, is an Italian electronic music project. The idea of the stage name was born from a photobook by artist Nobuyoshi Araki. Tying Tiffany has released five original studio albums: Undercover (2005), Brain for Breakfast (2007), Peoples Temple (2010), Dark Days, White Nights (2012), Drop (2014). TT has also released two remix albums, Black Neon RMXs (2009) and Peoples Temple Remix Edition (2011), plus the EP One (2013), as well as over fifteen singles. In 2011, TT started an instrumental music side project, T.T.L., with Italian producer Lorenzo Montanà, creating soundtracks for films and trailers.
