Eclectic indie rock that balances dusty Americana with polished alternative hooks. Warm, harmonized vocals and diverse instrumentation for reflective road trips.
Trocadero sounds like the intersection of a dusty desert highway and a high-tech basement studio. Their music is defined by a warm, organic core that frequently shifts between gritty blues-rock riffs and delicate, polyphonic vocal harmonies. There is a tangible sense of space in their recordings, often evoking the wide-open landscapes of the American West even when the production feels crisp and modern.
What truly sets them apart is their chameleonic ability to weave disparate genres into a cohesive narrative. You might hear a driving alternative rock anthem followed immediately by a banjo-led folk instrumental or a brief Hawaiian-inspired intermission. This unpredictability is anchored by the distinct vocal interplay between Nico Audy-Rowland and his collaborators, creating a sound that feels both intimate and cinematic.
Newcomers should start with the debut album, Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue. It serves as the perfect introduction to their eclectic range, featuring the iconic 'Blood Gulch Blues' alongside tracks that showcase their knack for storytelling and atmospheric rock. It is the definitive gateway to the sound that soundtracked a generation of early internet culture.

The band's debut album, Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue, was released on 1 September 2004. Their latest album, the soundtrack to Season 17 of Red vs. Blue, was released in 2019.
