Originally formed as Norman Bailer, the band underwent a radical sonic transformation with 1999's Blank-Wave Arcade, abandoning traditional indie rock for a synth-driven, high-bpm sound.
Their masterpiece, 2001's Danse Macabre, solidified their identity: a fusion of New Wave melody, industrial texture, and post-punk aggression. The inclusion of guitarist Dapose, formerly of the death metal band LEAD, provided a distinctive harmonic edge that separated them from peers like The Rapture or LCD Soundsystem. wav.
