The Dumplings

Polished, melancholic electropop that feels like neon reflecting in a puddle. Breathy vocals and sharp digital beats for late-night city walks.

Intro

The Dumplings create a sound that perfectly captures the intersection of youthful intimacy and urban isolation. It is music built on the contrast between Justyna Święs's airy, almost whispered vocals and Kuba Karaś's precise, often cold electronic arrangements. The result is a shimmering form of synth-pop that feels both deeply personal and technologically sophisticated, like a private conversation happening in the middle of a crowded club.

What makes them truly distinctive is their ability to infuse digital textures with a very human sense of longing. While many electropop acts lean into high-energy dance floor anthems, The Dumplings often pull back, favoring mid-tempo grooves and atmospheric layers that reward close listening. Their evolution from acoustic beginnings is still felt in the melodic DNA of their songs, which retain a singer-songwriter's vulnerability despite the heavy use of drum machines and synthesizers.

Start with their debut album, 'No Bad Days', to hear the raw energy of their breakthrough, then move to 'Raj' for a more mature, polished exploration of their signature sound. It is the ideal soundtrack for moments of transition, whether you are moving through a city at night or navigating the complex emotions of early adulthood.

The Dumplings are a Polish electropop duo from Zabrze, consisting of Justyna Święs and Kuba Karaś. As of 2016, they have released two studio albums. Their debut studio album No Bad Days was released in May 2014 through Warner Music. It has been hailed one of the greatest musical sensations of 2014 by the Polish media, receiving an exclusive Fryderyk award for phonographic debut of the year.
