Formed in Hoylake in 1996, The Coral is a British rock band known for blending punk, indie, and alternative styles. Signed to Deltasonic, the group gained prominence in the early 2000s with their Mercury Prize-nominated self-titled debut. Their follow-up record, Magic and Medicine, delivered multiple UK Top 20 hits. Despite the departure of guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones in 2008, the ensemble has persisted as a five-piece act.
