Team B

Team B is the primary creative outlet for multi-instrumentalist Kelly Pratt, a central figure in the late-2000s indie rock ecosystem. Pratt is best known for his brass contributions to Beirut and his tenure as a touring member of Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem.

The project emerged during the 2007-2008 period, with much of the debut album being composed and recorded in the margins of global tours. This nomadic origin story is reflected in the music's eclectic, chamber-pop arrangements. The lineup functions as a loose supergroup, featuring contributions from Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire), Pat Mahoney (LCD Soundsystem), and Jon Natchez (Beirut). Critically, Team B is viewed as a bridge between the grandiosity of orchestral indie and the intimacy of the 'bedroom pop' movement that would follow. While the name is occasionally confused with the pre-debut K-pop group iKON, the US-based Team B occupies a distinct niche in the American indie canon, characterized by sophisticated horn arrangements and a relaxed, collaborative spirit. Their work remains a cult favorite for fans of the 'Elephant 6' collective and the Brooklyn baroque-pop scene.
