Intro

Taxi delivers a sound that feels like a permanent summer afternoon. Rooted in the melodic traditions of Spanish pop-rock but infused with a grit that betrays their rock origins, the music is defined by shimmering guitar layers and big, communal choruses. There is an unmistakable warmth to their production, avoiding the coldness of digital pop in favor of a classic, full-band energy that feels both professional and deeply personal.

What sets them apart is the specific vocal delivery of Dylan Ferro, whose raspy, emotive tone adds a layer of lived-in experience to even their most upbeat tracks. The interplay between the two guitars creates a dense, driving wall of sound that maintains a pop sensibility without sacrificing the muscle of alternative rock. It is music designed to be heard in large spaces, carrying a sense of momentum and optimism.

Start with 'Aquí y ahora' to experience their peak polished sound, or dive into 'Libre' to hear the raw energy of their transition from Melon Diesel. It is the ideal soundtrack for anyone who loves the intersection of 2000s alternative rock and the passionate storytelling of the Hispanic rock scene.

Taxi is a Gibraltarian pop rock band founded in 2005 after the break-up of Melon Diesel. After the quintet's break-up, its members dissolved into two different bands: Taxi (Dylan Ferro, Dani Fa and Danny Bugeja) and Area 52 (Guy Palmer and Adrian Pozo). Whilst the latter moved on to play alternative rock in English, Taxi kept loyal to Melon Diesel's Hispanic fanbase, composing songs in Spanish. Their songs maintain a certain similarity to those of Melon Diesel although slightly more upbeat with more pop influences. In September 2010, Taxi was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in the Best Pop Album category by a duo or group with vocals by "Aquí y Ahora".
